Topic:"Byrnes St Redevelopment"
Speaker: Mr Michael Ringer, Senior Civil Engineer, Department of Transport and Main Roads.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads constantly tries to develop new initiatives to improve our road networks for all community members including motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and local businesses.
The department is developing plans to improve safety for all road users in Byrnes Street, Mareeba. These include changing the two lanes into one lane between Rankin and Lloyd Streets. A similar example of this can be seen in Cairns in McLeod Street directly in front of Cairns Central Shopping Centre between Spence and Aplin Streets.
Mr Michael Ringer, Senior Engineer (Civil) and a Communication Officer, Peter Croce from the department will present detailed plans and information about the proposed changes at the Chamber of Commerce Meeting on Friday 30 July. The department values comments and feedback from the local community as this will assist with the development of this project.
